The specialised courses for technicians and managerial personnel represent an institutional activity of the CFI, that has been taking place since the establishment of the Consorzio. It is a matter of the same initiative launched by IRI in 1962 and intended for senior executives of the developing countries and Eastern European countries, with a basic professional experience gained in the operating structures of their own countries and desire to continue their training program in Italy.
Up to now the attendance of the Courses has been the following: about 4000 technicians and executives coming from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Central Europe who have therefore acquired a specialisation in their own operating sector, thus becoming with the passing of time, useful reference points in their own countries for foreign initiatives of the Italian enterprises. This has been possible thanks to the follow up activities implemented by IRI, CFI and the Italian companies participating in the programme.
Candidacies are gathered through institutional channels via Diplomatic Representatives and Italian consulates abroad, the ICE offices as well as the Foreign Chambers of Commerce and, in a very focused way, through companies that are partners of CFI as well as other companies interested in the Programme, that agree on the final selection.
The financing of the Course is guaranteed by the contributions offered by the CFI’s members as well as funds from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, other public organisations and administrations in the field of cooperation to development and/or internationalisation.
The organisation and execution of stages (in-plant trainings) takes place in cooperation with those responsible for the CFI sector as well as the corporate delegates involved in the programme, so as to ensure the attainment of all the training objectives for the participants, in line with the objectives, availability and needs of the hosting Companies.
Last edition of the Course took place from March 31st to June 6th 2008 and has been attended by 30 participants coming from 19 countries.
What follows is a short description of the professional background of the participants as well as companies and organisations where the stages and the visits of the “Professional Development” phase have been performed.
